About the Varsity Coaches

Alan Trzecki is a veteran coach and educator with 20-plus years of experience. He joined the Burroughs coaching staff as an assistant in 2006 and two years later was named head coach of boys’ and girls’ soccer. In his first season at the helm, the boys’ team captured the program's first State championship, and Trzecki earned Coach of the Year honors. Trzecki also serves as the 7th and 8th grade PE coordinator and a member of the athletic administrative team. Before coming to Burroughs, he worked for 17 years as a physical education teacher and coach at Villa Duchesne-Oak Hill School. He earned a bachelor's degree in education from the University of Missouri-St. Louis where he competed for the Rivermen in the 1987 NCAA Final Four Men’s Soccer Championships. Trzecki holds coaching licenses from both the National Soccer Coaches Association of America and the United States Soccer Federation.

Jerry DiSalvo joined the Burroughs coaching staff in 2008 and has served as the boys' and girls' JV soccer coach. DiSalvo has an active B national coaching license from the United States Soccer Federation. He has been coaching since 1980; this includes assistant college coach for Benedictine men's soccer, select soccer for various clubs, director of player training and development for two soccer clubs and a 2001-02 Olympic Development coach for the 1986 girls' state team. DiSalvo earned soccer All-State honors as a students at St. Thomas Aquinas High School and All Conference, All Midwest and All American honors as a student at Benedictine College. DiSalvo has a bachelor's in physical education and a master's in business administration.

About the JV Coaches

Barry Gale (JBS ’85) joined the Burroughs coaching staff in 2003 as the girls’ JV basketball coach and assistant soccer coach. Gale was the head soccer coach at Warrenton High School for the boys’ and girls’ programs from 1996-1998, the head JV soccer coach at St. Louis University High School from 2000-2003 and the head varsity coach for the girls’ soccer program at St. Elizabeth Academy in St. Louis. Gale has the most wins by any coach in St. Elizabeth Academy’s history. He holds a bachelor's degree from a graduate of Miami University (Ohio) and earned a master’s degree fromTruman State University.
