 Season
Perennial of late summer and autumn

 Habitat
Moist, somewhat shady woodland openings.

 Flower
Occur as terminal clusters of bottle shaped blue flowers. Petals (5) are joined to close the blossom.

 Leaves
Simple, opposite, entire, lance shaped with three main veins. The sides of the leaf are curved upwards to form a concave depression.
