Summer annual.

 Habitat
Weed of moist disturbed soils or moist cultivated soils.

 Flower
Small and dense, terminal, nodding spike clusters of pink to white flowers. Spike measures 1/3" to 1/4" wide.

 Leaves
Alternate, entire, simple, and lance shaped. The stems are jointed at each node and each joint is surrounded by a sheath of tissue.
