Season	Perennial, spring and early summer.
Habitat	Dry open woods, edges of woods with shade.
Flower	Regular, rose-purple, on long stalks, with 5 petals. Single flowers are 1 to 2 inches wide.
Leaves	Basal and 2 stem leaves present, leaves deeply cleft into 3 to 5 lobes.
