 Habitat
Wet areas, marshes, bogs and ditches.

 Flower
Blue, irregular, with two lips. The flowers, 1" long, grow from the axils of the upper leaves. The upper lip of the flower is arched and the lower lip flares outward.

 Leaves
Simple, toothed and opposite. The stem is square and the leaves are lance shaped and nearly stalkless.
