 Habitat
Swamps and margins of ponds, stream edges, wet roadside ditches.

 Flower
Irregular, rose-purple to pink, small (1/4 inch wide), 5 petals curve down and 5 petals curve up creating an hour glass shape. Flower clusters mostly terminal and flat (umbel arrangement).

 Leaves
Opposite, simple, toothless, lance-shaped.
