Perennial, blooms in the spring.

 Habitat
Moist deciduous woods where there are openings and forest edges.

 Flower
Regular, solitary on a stalk, 1 inch diameter, white, with 5 sepals and many yellow stamens.

 Leaves
Toothed, lobed, palmately compound, 3 - 5 leaflets, leaves arranged in groups of three as a whorl on the stem.
