Laura Crowley joined the Burroughs faculty in 2004, and is currently the chair of the mathematics department, where she has taught many classes, from Math 7 Accelerated to AP Calculus. Prior to coming to Burroughs, Crowley taught and was math department chair at Shorecrest High School in Seattle. She holds a bachelor's degree in math from Illinois Wesleyan University and a master's in education from University of Missouri-St. Louis.

Rachael Barnes joined the Burroughs faculty in 1997. She has taught at every grade level and has taught Mathematics 7 (Accelerated), Introduction to Algebra, Algebra I (Accelerated), Geometry 9, Geometry 10, Algebra II, Pre-calculus, Honors Pre-calculus, Economics and Statistics. Rachael holds a bachelor's degree in mathematics and education from Washington University, a master's in finance from the John Cook School of Business at St. Louis University, and a master's in economics and finance from the University of East Anglia in Norwich, England. She has refereed article submissions for the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics and was published in the April 2010 issue of NCTM's journal, Mathematics Teacher.

Samantha Bledsoe joined the Burroughs faculty in 2014. She teaches algebra I and algebra II. Bledsoe hold's a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from University of Missouri-Rolla and previously worked at McDonnell Douglas. She has tutored middle and high school math students and has worked with fifth and sixth graders on math explorations at City Academy.

Michael Haveman joined the Math Department in 2015. He teaches two sections of Geometry 9, two sections of Math 7 Accelerated and one section of Algegra I-9. Haveman holds bachelor’s degrees in math and economics from Texas Christian University. He comes most recently from The Episcopal School of Texas in San Antonio, where he taught math for four years (grades 8-11).

Jim Holmes joined the Math and Academic Support departments in summer 2018. In addition to teaching courses in economics and algebra, he sponsors the JBS Business Club. Holmes began his teaching at Rossman School, where he taught 6th grade for 16 years. He has a bachelor of arts degree in biology from Williams College and a masters of management degree in marketing and strategy from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.

Kevin McKone joined the Burroughs faculty in 1988. He teaches Introduction to Algebra, Algebra I and Algebra II, and tutors in the Academic Support Department. He is also co-site director of Aim High, a program which supports talented St. Louis public school students in their effort to graduate from high school (and hopefully college). He has coached a number of sports at Burroughs, including ice hockey, soccer, tennis, basketball, baseball, softball and lacrosse. McKone has a bachelor's degree from Brown University and a master's in educational administration from St. Louis University.
Kevin Menos joined the Burroughs faculty in summer 2017 to teach Math 7, Precalculus and Calculus and assist with the Robotics Club. Prior to Burroughs, Menos was a mathematics instructor at East Central College in Union, Missouri, for three years. He has also reviewed mathematics textbooks for Pearson Publishing. He earned a bachelor’s degree in secondary mathematics education and a master’s degree in mathematics from Saint Louis University.
Nicole Randall joined the JBS faculty in summer 2017. As a member of the Math Department, she teaches Geometry 9, Topics in Precalculus and AP Calculus AB. For the past nine years, Randall was at Whitfield School, where she taught several math courses including Algebra I, Algebra II, Precalculus, Introduction to Calculus and AP Calculus AB. She also served as Whitfield’s ISACS (Independent Schools Association of the Central States) representative and Mathletes coach. Randall has a bachelor's degree in mathematics from Pennsylvania State University and secondary education certification in mathematics from San Francisco State University.

Paul Salomon, a JBS graduate in the Class of 2002, joined the Math Department in summer 2013 to teach Geometry 10, Algebra II and AP Calculus. Prior to Burroughs, Salomon taught for seven years, most recently at St. Ann's School in New York City. He co-writes Math Munch, a math blog for middle school students. Salomon holds a bachelor's degree from Lawrence University and a master's degree from CUNY-Hunter College.

Jason Taff joined the Burroughs faculty in 1994. He teaches Math 7, 9th grade Geometry and Algebra II. He is also the math competition coordinator. Taff holds a bachelor's degree in math and linguistics from Washington University and a master's in linguistics from University of Texas-Austin. He is president of the American Go Association-St. Louis Chapter and holds a second degree black belt in Aikido.

Nichole Whiteford joined the Burroughs faculty in 2014. She teaches eighth and ninth grade algebra. Prior to coming to Burroughs, Whiteford worked as a software developer for The Boeing Company. She holds a bachelor's degree and a master's degree in mathematics from Truman State University where she taught algebra and served as a math tutor.

Alexander Wu, from the JBS Class of 2001, joined the Math Department in summer 2013, teaching Algebra 8, Geometry 10 and Precalculus. He is also a C Football assistant coach. Before coming to Burroughs, Wu had eight years of teaching experience. He holds a bachelor's degree from Boston College and a master's degree from Southwest Baptist University.
