2015 Board Slate

JBS_Mark_only_rev.jpgThe Board of Trustees, the Parents Council and the administration invite and encourage all parents to attend the Annual Dinner and Auction at 6 pm, Saturday, May 2, in the Olin Field House. At a brief business meeting following dinner, members of the JBS Association — that is, all current parents — will elect trustees for the 2015-16 school year. (Terms are for three years.) The slate includes:

Russell Browning (first term): Managing Partner, Pulleyworks Capital, LLC — Russell has served the school as a Capital Campaign and Annual Giving volunteer. In the larger community, he currently serves as a board member of Jazz St. Louis and the St. Louis Chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG). He also chairs the executive committee for the Make-A-Wish of MIssouri Walk for Wishes. Russell is the father of Russell ’10, Sarah, Elizabeth ’16, Michael ’18 and John ’19.

Gina Hoagland (second term): President, Collaborative Strategies, Inc. — Gina has served Burroughs as a Parent Annual Giving volunteer. As a trustee, she currently serves on the Finance, Tuition Aid and Values committees. Gina serves on the Executive Committee of the Opera Theatre St. Louis Board and chairs the Human Resources and Strategic Planning committees. She is a member of the St. Louis Arch Angels and the former president and a current board member of St. Louis Forum. Gina also serves on the City of Ladue Finance Committee. She formerly chaired the board of the SouthSide Early Childhood Center, the St. Louis chapter of the Entrepreneurs Organization, and was the audit chair of the Missouri State Lottery. Gina and her husband, Lee, are the parents of Keith, Nathan ’17 and Simone ’21.

Sean Joe (first term): Benjamin E. Youngdahl Professor of Social Development at Washington University in St. Louis — Sean has served Burroughs as a member of the Annual Dinner and Auction committee and as a parent volunteer for seventh and eighth grade community service projects. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Society for Social Work and Research and is a former member of the Board of Directors for the Education Foundation of Dexter (Dexter, Michigan). Sean is the father of Edrick ’19 and Jordan ’20.

Kirby Mack ’96 (first term, alumni representative): Portfolio Advisor, Buckingham Asset Management — Kirby has served Burroughs as a member of the interviewing team for the athletic director position and as a contributor to the athletic history book, Teammates for LIfe. He and his wife, Alicia, are the parents of Jordan.

John Kalishman (first term): President, Harcourt Group, LLC — John currently serves as a non-trustee member of the Board's Investment Committee. He also has served as an Annual Giving volunteer and a grade-level parent co-chair. In the larger community, John serves as member of the board of the Jewish Federation of St. Louis and treasurer of the board of the Jewish Community Relations Council of St. Louis. He is a former trustee of the Wyman Center and former member of Focus St. Louis/Leadership St. Louis Class of 1998/99. John and his wife, Diane, are the parents of Jenna ’18, Ethan ’20 and Nicole.

Mary Riew (second term): Community Volunteer — Mary serves Burroughs as a Bookstore volunteer and chair of Back to School Night. As a JBS Board member, she serves on the Diversity, Education, Nominating and Tuition Aid committees. In the larger community, Mary is a board member of Ready Readers, Friends of St. Louis Children’s Hospital and the Community Music School of Webster University. She is also a member of Spirit of St. Louis Women’s Fund and the St. Louis Symphony Volunteer Association. She previously served on the board of Forsyth School and was co-president of the Forsyth Family Organization. Mary and her husband, Dan, are the parents of Brad ’13, Grant ’15 and Julia ’17.

Cheryl Milton Roberts (second term): Managing Director, MR Consulting Group, LLC — Cheryl serves as co-chair of the Board’s Diversity Committee and as a member of the Education Committee. She also was a facilitator of the AIM (Assessment of Inclusivity and Multiculturalism) Discovery Group sessions. Cheryl previously served as a board member and president of the board for New City School. She also serves on the board of the YWCA and All American Gymnastics, a USAG-sanctioned team. Cheryl and her husband, Ronald, are the parents of Remi ’14 and Reese ’17.

Mamatha Shetty (first term): Community Volunteer — Mamatha has served Burroughs as a Parent Annual Giving volunteer, grade-level parent co-chair, co-chair of the Family Network New Parent Mentor Program and Brown Bag Program and co-chair of Unique Boutique's Incredible Edibles. In the larger community, she volunteered as a reading tutor in the Ladue School District. Mamatha and her husband, Athmaram, are the parents of Dhruv ’17 and Maya ’19.

Russ Willey (second term): Chief Financial Officer, Centric Group LLC — Russ serves Burroughs as treasurer of the Board, chair of the Board’s Finance Committee and member of the Development and Investment committees. He and his wife, Rose, are the parents of Lina ’16, Lucas ’20 and Livia.
