Emily Kantrovitz '22, Sami Remis '20, Lily Walther '21, Gaby Thornton '20 and Ainsley Heidbreder '21 were mentioned on 12.04.18 in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch in a story about All-Metro Girls Tennis:

Emily Kantrovitz, John Burroughs tennis: Kantrovitz played No. 1 singles on the Class 1 state team championship Bomber team. That was an accomplishment in itself as she played ahead of four teammates who have state championships on their resumes. Kantrovitz finished the season with a 21-4 record for the undefeated Bombers. She finished second in singles in Class 1, falling in the finals to Adelia Castaner of Pembroke Hill.

Sami Remis, junior, John Burroughs: Remis, who was the player of the year last season, has concluded the high school triple crown with still a year remaining. Remis won the Class 1 singles championship in 2017 after finishing second to teammate Gaby Thornton as a freshman. This year she was a part of a dominant team champion and also won the Class 1 doubles title with Thornton. She lost just one singles match while playing at No. 2 singles for the Bombers.

Lily Walther, sophomore, John Burroughs: Walther has accomplished a lot in her two years with John Burroughs. She won the Class 1 doubles crown with Ainsley Heidbreder last year and this year she was undefeated in the regular season at No. 3 singles for the team state champions. She won the consolation title in the Class 1 singles state tournament. Her only loss came in the quarterfinals against eventual champion Adelia Castaner of Pembroke Hill.

Gaby Thornton, junior, John Burroughs: Thornton, a Class 1 singles champion in 2016, missed the entire 2017 season with an ACL season. She came back at the No. 5 singles spot, went undefeated and won the Class 1 doubles title with Sami Remis.

Ainsley Heidbreder, sophomore, John Burroughs: Last year's Class 1 doubles champion was undefeated in singles at No. 4 and finished sixth in doubles at state with Kathryn Stengel."
