Fall Play: "Front"

October 10, 2019

On Friday, October 25, and Saturday, October 26, JBS Performing Arts presents Front by Robert Caisley.
Set in London during the Blitz, Front tells the stories of courageous individuals facing the horror and ruin of war as the front line arrives in England's mighty capital. From the opening days of war with Nazi Germany, to the hellacious heights of the Blitz, the resolve of the United Kingdom and her subjects has strained to its absolute limit. Men are sent to fight; women are sent to factories; children are sent from their homes. In the rubble of her city, Judith (Abby Greenberg) copes with the departure of her husband, Frank (Shayfer Huitt), and struggles to shield her children, Tom (Patrick Whiteford) and Angie (Lauren Keeley), from the conflict. Others around her, including Joan Justice (Isabella Koster) and Mr. and Mrs. Briggs (Lindsey Steinkamp and Adam Krekeler), watch their children (Jacob Tuteur and Christion Wynn) leave for a fight they may never return from. In a world of debris, loss and darkness, Front is a poignant account of female resolve and perseverance.
All playing multiple roles, the rest of the cast includes Lindsey Okafor, Simone Hoagland, Anne Grace Hooper, Libby Hizar, Mia Wood, Jacob Rackers, Andrew Herbster, Ithan Levy, and Quincy Battles (Mr. Battles’ son). Carla Landis Evans is the costume designer, and Joe Novak is the Technical Director/Master Carpenter/Props Master. Adina Cazacu-De Luca is designing the sound. Keerthana Madireddi is the Production Stage Manager and AnnMarie O’Shea is the Assistant Stage Manager.  Drew Battles is directing the production. Front will be performed in Haertter Hall on Friday, October 25, and Saturday, October 26. Both performances are at 7:30 pm. Tickets are $10 (general admission) and can be purchased in the bookstore starting Friday, October 18.
