Susan Sherman, past parent, was featured in the 05.17.19 issue of the St. Louis Business Journal in a story about a new $5 million apparel factory planned for Grand Center: "'We’re trying to reintroduce the idea of manufacturing in the city,' said Otis Williams, executive director of SLDC. 'We think this will eventually grow into something that will be very big for the city and region.' Susan Sherman, board member of the Saint Louis Fashion Fund, said the city’s design community has needed a manufacturing facility to further facilitate growth. 'Our mission is to support emerging designers and bring them to St. Louis, bring them to downtown,' Sherman said. 'But unless they have manufacturing, which is not just knitwear but also cut and sew, they’re not necessarily going to move here.' Now, Sherman said, St. Louis-based designers will be able to use the new facility. They could include Lori Coulter, who makes swimwear and has eyed creating knit cover ups, Sherman said. Another potential customer, she said, is Soulard-based Stars Design Group. Lewis said Evolution would also target national customers, athleisure brands, and government customers."
