Alan Trzecki (PE; Athletics), on left, has been named the 2014 boys soccer Coach of the Year by the Coaches Association of the National Federation of State High School Associations. After ending the season with a Metro League championship and a fourth consecutive District championship, the soccer Bombers advanced to the quarterfinals of the state tournament, where they fell to eventual state champion Perryville. In the seven years since Trzecki took over as head coach of the program, the team has won two state championships (2008, 2013), claimed five District titles, and finished the year ranked in the top 10 of the final state coaches poll on five occasions. After each of the championship seasons, Trzecki earned Coach of the Year honors from the Missouri State High School Soccer Coaches Association and the Missouri State High School Activities Association. Trzecki also coaches the girls team, which has twice advanced to the state quarterfinals and captured four District titles, and he serves as director of seventh and eighth grade physical education.
